In Search of Dragons
Medrash Rogar’s Background
Your parents were adventurers themselves from the Dragon Coast, specifically the region of Tymanther (this area gives you Athletics as a class skill, and a +2 on Athletics checks). After their adventures, they married and settled into a happy home life in Djerad Thymar, the most populated citadel in this region. After fulfilling your obligations in the Lance Defenders, Tymanther’s army, you tried to settle back into your quiet life in Djerad Thymar, but grew bored. You asked your parents for help becoming an adventurer, and they pointed you in the direction of Fallcrest, a small settlement in the region of Luruar, several hundred miles to the west. One of your parents’ closest friends, another adventurer and a dwarf, lives there, and his daughter, Korbera Tordek, is looking for an adventuring partner. You’ve met Korbera several times throughout your childhood. Your parents made the trek to Fallcrest many times to visit their dear old friend, and he did the same in return. You look forward to seeing her again, although you don’t know what kind of adventure could be found in the small, quiet town of Fallcrest. You are also worried about moving to a town that no other Dragonborn live in. You trust in your parents’ wisdom, however, and within six weeks have completed the dangerous journey safely. You spent the night at a local inn, the Silver Unicorn. You’re paid up through tomorrow night, but after that you’re on your own, and at two gold a night, you know you’ll probably end up staying at Nentir Inn, which Wisara Osterman, the owner of the Silver Unicorn, often refers to as the “Dump”. She’s complained several times in the day and a half that you’ve been here that Erandil Zemoar, the proprietor of Nentir Inn, is a shifty-eyed bandit if she ever saw one, but she can’t prove it. You are due to meet your friend Korbera at the Blue Moon Alehouse to down a pint and come up with a plan. You also need to meet with Lord Faren Markelhay and bring news to him from Dragon Coast, as is customary of all travelers to Fallcrest, according to your parents. As a former Lancer, a Paladin, and a dragonborn, you are honor-bound to uphold this tradition.
